Be Obedient; Follow God’s Instructions- and Prosper! – Jeremiah

Be Willing To Turn A New Leaf

(Passage: Jeremiah 42)

God knows how best to lead his children; he corrects and instructs for their benefit.

At a time, God corrected his children; he simplified the reason behind his action and asked them to endure the correction for the sake of their future.

God spoke through his servant (Jeremiah) and said,

“If you will still remain in this land, then I will build you and not pull you down, and I will plant you and not pluck you up. For I relent concerning the disaster that I have brought upon you. Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; do not be afraid of him,’ says the Lord, ‘for I am with you, to save you and deliver you from his hand. And I will show you mercy, that he may have mercy on you and cause you to return to your own land.’

“But if you say, ‘We will not dwell in this land,’ disobeying the voice of the Lord your God, saying, ‘No, but we will go to the land of Egypt where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor be hungry for bread, and there we will dwell’— Then hear now the word of the Lord, O remnant of Judah! Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘If you wholly set your faces to enter Egypt, and go to dwell there, then it shall be that the sword which you feared shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt; the famine of which you were afraid shall follow close after you there in Egypt, and there you shall die” (Jeremiah 42:10-16).

Be Obedient; Follow Instructions For Your Benefit

Children of God are well placed for a blessing when they follow God’s instruction. In other words, obedience propels God to bless us.

Sometimes, God’s leading is the opposite of what we would have preferred, but as we know that God doesn’t make a mistake, he won’t ask us to do anything that will not benefit us in the end.

It takes a humble heart to apologize for a wrongdoing.

As children of God, we should not find it difficult to apologize for our mistakes before God. He is a kind and forgiving God; he will forgive us.

It is also important to mention that children of God are not expected to take pride in sin.

Be not boastful of your wrongdoing so God won’t be angry with you. Instead, be remorseful, repent, and beg for forgiveness.

Not only will our heavenly Father forgive our mistakes, but he will also give us the power to overcome our weaknesses.

The more you trust God, the more he will empower you to do the right thing.

Always remember that God is your Father; he will take care of you in every circumstance of life.

It takes a humble heart to apologize for a wrongdoing. #apologize #humbleheart #heartfeltmoment

GOD HONORS OBEDIENCE – Jeremiah

You Ain’t Know What Obedience and Disobedience Can Bring

(Passage: Jeremiah 44)

It is not good to despise God because the consequence is bad. It is good to obey God’s instruction because it leads to a blessing.

Some children of God in the bible played with God’s instruction; they mistook God for a human being; they reap the consequence.

God had warned his people- the Israelites through Prophet Jeremiah that they should stay put in their location to face his correction. His people should exercise repentance and appease him for the improvement of their status.

The people rebelled against God’s instruction: They proudly opposed God and challenged him to dare attempt to stop them.

It is reported,

“Then all the men who knew that their wives had burned incense to other gods, with all the women who stood by, a great multitude, and all the people who dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying:

“As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you! But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, were well- off, and saw no trouble. But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.”

“The women also said, “And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make cakes for her, to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her without our husbands’ permission?” (Jeremiah 44:15-19).

Never Mess With God!

The worse thing a person (or people) can do is take God’s warning for granted, as the Lord promised to compensate the Israelites for their disobedience equally.

God promised to humiliate the Israelites as they chose to exile in Egypt, contrary to God’s leading.

God said,

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying: ‘You and your wives have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hands, saying, “We will surely keep our vows that we have made, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her.” You will surely keep your vows and perform your vows!’ Therefore hear the word of the Lord, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: ‘Behold, I have sworn by My great name,’ says the Lord, ‘that My name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, “The Lord God lives.”

Behold, I will watch over them for adversity and not for good. And all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end to them. Yet a small number who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone to the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose words will stand, Mine or theirs. And this shall be a sign to you,’ says the

BE SPIRITUALLY SENSITIVE TO OVERCOME – Ephesians

Christian Ultimate Guide To Winning

(Passage: Luke 9; Ephesians 6)

“Heads up!” -Jesus warned his disciples of impending danger and charged them to be prepared. The disciples lost consciousness of the warning and instead focused on irrelevant matters. They ended up being caught unaware.

The disciples of Jesus ought to follow Jesus’s advice to watch and pray against the impending danger; they were busy competing among themselves. Their priority shifted to fighting for a leadership position.

Sensitivity matters! Jesus had warned,

“Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men. “But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them so that they did not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this saying” (Luke 9:46-47).

Rather than taking appropriate action, the Bible stated that the disciples,

“Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives Him who sent me. For he who is least among you all will be great” (Luke 9:46-47).

Lesson on Spiritual Sensitivity

The followers of Jesus Christ must be spiritually sensitive and act appropriately to overcome any life situation.

It is understood that politics has its place in society, but just not in the church! Believers must understand that politics can’t be adopted into faith matters.

Let’s keep in mind,

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

Christianity is an exercise that must be practiced spiritually, not politically! #christianity #cardio #workout #practice

Believers must be careful not to mistake faith for politics.

A person who decides to serve God must do so wholeheartedly: Be prayerful and spiritually sensitive.

The scripture stated,

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth” (John 4:24).

Facing the Fact about Spiritual Sensitivity:

In this world, your faith will be tested. So don’t assume that your “Christianity” will only consist of positive matters. Be prepared to face these facts:

Don’t make quick assumptions whenever a matter arises; make both spiritual and physical assessments of all issues.  Be prayerful and be sensitive to the leadership of the Holy Spirit to overcome your trials. Understand that the power of God is ever-present to help you overcome any situation- no matter what it is, God is able!  Be confident in your victory as the scripture stated, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death (Revelation 12:11). Prayer To Be Empowered for Victory

Dear Jesus Christ, please, I ask you to help me be spiritually sensitive to overcome any challenge of life. Please help me operate under the Holy Spirit’s leadership so that I can win! Please make it easy for me to apply my spiritual exercise of fasting and prayer as I trust you for victory in all matters. Please help me to witness your great deliverance and
